Beylerbeyi Palace & Camlica Hill Afternoon Tour
Immerse in the opulence of Imperial Ottoman architecture by visiting this grand seaside mansion on the Anatolian side of the Bosporus Strait. Considered one of the most magnificent Ottoman coastal palaces, Beylerbeyi Palace was the summer residence of sultans and a guest house for important foreign diplomats and statesmen.
Today you can wander around the elegant champers, ceremonial halls, kiosks and gardens, to admire the rich decorations, lavish artifacts and eclectic architecture that artfully blends the Oriental with the European style.
Beylerbeyi is an authentic neighborhood that dates back to the Byzantine period, when emperor Constantine erected a golden cross here thus naming the area Stavros (Cross) Gardens. During this tour you will have the chance to take in the atmosphere in traditional old-style cafes and fish restaurants set in old wooden houses along the beautiful pier, and explore this yet undiscovered side of Istanbul.
You will be picked up from your accommodation and transferred to the pier where you will board the tour boat for a cruise on the Bosporus. This is a great chance to marvel at important sites along the coast before crossing to the Asian side.
You will visit the Beylerbeyi Palace where your guide will lead you through the magnificent rooms and offer insight into the elements of its construction and history.
After the Beylerbeyi Palace visit you will continue to Çamlıca Hill, for an amazing panorama of both the European and the Asian sides of Istanbul and the bridges that connect the two sides. The area is also dotted with pleasant cafes and you are welcome to have snacks and drinks at your own expenses.
